The dilemma at the heart of qualia really unsettled me as a child. How did I know that my red and your red were the same red? The colors of the world, the rapidity of depth's vanishing act, the smell of burning cookies (sob), could all be completely different to you than they are to me.
That still freaks me out.

Nick's blog:
I read: I learn.
For this, I thank you.
I hate the smell of burning cookies. And not just because of the sadness of realizing that they are burning and won't be as delicious but the smell itself is just offensive to my olfactory system. The only things worse are burnt cheese and burnt eggs.
Ewwww, cheese and eggs. That's a bad smell. Ever burned sugar?
I have not burned sugar. Generally when I bake, deliciousness results.
